Berfore the Primal Lifestyle

Pre-Primal

I started the Primal Diet about 3 days ago. Here's why... I am 26 years old. Since having a child 3 years ago, I had become overweight and just blah. I am 5'10" and 168 lbs. I used to range between 128 and 132 (I have a fairly small frame, so this was even allowing a good amount of body fat). Over last 6 months, I started to notice that I had become depressed. I never felt like doing anything! I still got up and did my parenting and made it to my internship and grad school, but only because I had to. My knees were stiff, I had no energy. In addition, I was craving unhealthy food all the time.

I downloaded Mark Sisson's The Primal Blueprint: Reprogram your genes for effortless weight loss, vibrant health, and boundless energy off of Amazon after seeing some success stories on the internet and read half of it in one night. The journey has begun!

Becoming Primal!

So, I have been eating strictly primal for 3 days now. I have already noticed substantial changes.
  1. My joints (especially my knees) do not hurt anymore! I literally feel like an elementary school kid as far as mobility goes.
  2. I am not tired at all! I actually am having a hard time sitting here right now. I kind of want to go run.
  3. I can jump again (and I feel like doing it). I used to just barely be able to touch my ceiling. Now, I can jump and touch it with my whole palm flat on it. And, I did this about 10 times in a row and felt awesome.
  4. I am not hungry all the time. I didn't crave any sweets after I put my daughter to bed last night, I didn't even reach for my evening beer. I was completely satisfied from my nuts, salad, steak and mushrooms that I had eaten yesterday.
  5. My mood is GREAT! My husband asked if I was on drugs when he came home yesterday. I seriously feel really happy.
I am going to just keep blogging about my transformation as it comes along. Probably fill you all in on diet, exercise, other random things I am finding as I have time. I will also be putting up pre-change pictures soon. I am pretty busy in school right now, but keep checking back!
